Fire Department, Moss Wall Art Installation, Wearing the ‘Symbol of Life’

– Spatial aesthetics that add nature to the hallways of public institutions… Satisfies both symbolism and psychological stability

On March 6, 2022, a new art piece that embraces nature appeared in the main hallway of the National Fire Agency headquarters in Daejeon. This project, in which the domestic moss design brand **Moss Wall Art** participated, aimed to breathe warm life into the space without damaging the identity of the National Fire Agency, a national disaster safety agency.

This moss wall art installed on the hallway wall is composed of moss, which symbolizes life, recovery, and natural circulation, in a refined pattern, and simultaneously embodies both aesthetics and functionality. The design of natural materials, which contrasts with the fire department’s work characteristics of dealing with fire, rescue, and life, is being evaluated as containing both the agency’s expertise and humanity.

Moswall Art said, “This installation was carried out as an extension of other government agencies such as the National Police Agency and the Korea Meteorological Administration, and was an attempt to add artistic quality and emotional depth to the functional image of a public building.”

Since then, various administrative agencies, including the National Fire Agency, have been requesting space improvement through moss wall art, which has once again highlighted the importance of public design that delivers ‘psychological well-being’ beyond mere decoration.
