Police Department, a symbol embroidered with moss… Reinterpreting space with moss wall art
– Precision planting of the logo and high-difficulty design to realize refined authority and vitality
On January 13, 2023, a special installation inspired by nature was unveiled at the main building of the National Police Agency in the Republic of Korea. Moss Wall Art, a leader in the domestic moss art field, expressed the majesty and vitality of the space at the same time through a customized moss design that maximized the symbolism of the National Police Agency.
This project consists of a framed police agency logo installed in the hallway in front of the chief’s office and a moss terrarium set up in the reception room. In particular, the process of precisely planting the police agency logo with moss was a process that required extremely difficult techniques, and the expressiveness was maximized by combining plant materials optimized for indoor environmental conditions with a metal frame.
A Moss Wall Art official explained, “We aimed for a design that conveys psychological stability through nature without damaging the identity of the police as a national institution,” adding, “This is a case that required both precision and symbolism, as well as many years of planting know-how and artistic sensibility.”
This installation, which was applied to the police station space, was later expanded to major public institutions such as the National Fire Agency and the Korea Meteorological Administration, and became an important starting point for simultaneously proving the symbolism and technological prowess of Moss Wall Art.
