Icheon City Agricultural Technology Center, the first public agricultural facility to introduce moss wall art
– Realizing practicality and emotional stability at the same time with nature-based design
In April 2023, Icheon City Agricultural Technology Center introduced Moss Wall Art for the first time as a public agricultural facility, suggesting a new direction for spatial environment improvement and agricultural technology innovation. This installation was planned with a nature-friendly design to provide visual comfort to visitors and workers in addition to practical functions.
The installed moss wall art was placed on the corridors and main walls, taking into account the movement and sightlines of visitors, and the organic patterns and rich texture of moss bring life to the space. In particular, considering the public nature and educational functions of the agricultural technology center, it was designed to ensure ease of maintenance and sustainability.
An official from Icheon City said, “This installation of Moss Wall Art has become an opportunity to transform the Agricultural Technology Center into a space that provides psychological stability to both visitors and practitioners beyond its function,” adding, “We plan to continue creating spaces that are in harmony with nature within public institutions in the future.”
This case is evaluated as a model case that pioneered the introduction of nature-based design into public agricultural spaces, and it is expected to have a positive impact on agricultural technology centers and related facilities in other regions in the future.
