Seoul Olympic Park, Moss Wall Art Installation with Three Motifs Combining Nature and Symbolism
– Peace Gate, Wildflower Garden, Lone Tree… Artistic reinterpretation of symbols of space
Moss Wall Art will be installed in major facilities within Seoul Olympic Park, adding depth to the spatial art through nature-based design. This installation was planned with the intention of visually implementing the historical and local characteristics of Olympic Park and the harmony with nature, rather than being a simple decoration.
This work, consisting of three pieces in total, is each inspired by a representative symbol of Olympic Park.
The first one was inspired by the 'Peace Gate' built to pray for world peace, and expressed structural rhythm and balance.
The second is a simple and organic curve that symbolizes the ‘Wildflower Hill’, a hill where wild flowers bloom every spring.
The last one is the 'Lone Tree', a symbol of lonely beauty that has been loved by many people, and is expressed with refined emotions using moss texture and shadow effects.
Moswall Art said, “This project was a work of weaving the emotions and narratives of space with natural materials,” and added, “We hope that more people will sensorily encounter the stories that nature tells within the city of Seoul.”
This case, where the deep symbolism of Seoul Olympic Park and the formative interpretation of moss wall art meet, is attracting attention as a new attempt to plant nature and memories in urban public spaces.
